Focus

Develop a central digital platform for the Korčula Tourist Board that would streamline the management of accommodation listings, restaurants, events, and other destination-related content while delivering an intuitive user experience for both domestic and international visitors.

Tourism destinations are highly dynamic environments. New accommodation providers emerge, restaurants update their offerings, and events are announced throughout the year. Traditional publishing workflows often rely on manual communication between local businesses and the Tourist Board.

This approach slows down content updates, increases administrative workload, and creates a risk of outdated information reaching potential visitors precisely when timely information matters most.

The key challenge was to enable content creation by those who know it best – accommodation providers, restaurant owners, and event organisers – without compromising the quality, reliability, and consistency of the destination’s digital presence.

Solution

We developed a user management system that allows registered users to independently submit and update accommodation listings, restaurants, and events through a simple administration interface.

All submitted content is reviewed and approved by the Korčula Tourist Board before publication, ensuring accuracy and maintaining high editorial standards while significantly reducing administrative effort.

Special attention was given to event management. Events are structured into categories such as gastronomy, culture, sports, and other activities, enabling their automatic and contextual display across different sections of the platform. Visitors are therefore presented with content that matches their interests and browsing context without requiring duplicate content management.

The platform is built around clearly defined content types and relationships between tourism entities, including accommodation, restaurants, locations, and events. This structured approach simplifies content administration, improves the visitor experience, and enables better interpretation of information by search engines and AI-powered discovery systems.

The result is a digital platform that reduces the operational burden on the Tourist Board, empowers local stakeholders to manage their own information, and provides visitors with access to relevant and up-to-date destination content almost in real time.

Project Overview

The Korcula Tourist Board needed a modern digital platform capable of supporting the constantly evolving tourism offering throughout the year. Accommodation listings, restaurants, events, and other tourism-related information change frequently, making manual content collection and publishing increasingly time-consuming for the Tourist Board team.

The project included UX/UI design and development of a tourism platform that enables accommodation providers, restaurant owners, and event organisers to manage their own content, while the Tourist Board retains editorial control through a review and approval process.

The result is a digital ecosystem that connects the Tourist Board, local businesses, and visitors while ensuring access to accurate, up-to-date, and well-structured information about Korcula’s tourism offering.
